The River Em

The River Em runs from the Vastwood to the Central Sea. Within the Vastwood, the Em is an almost impassable staccato of waterfalls and rapids but after it emerges, several tributaries feed into it from the rolling hills and forests to the west. The Em widens, deepens, and slows as it passes by Kolos Jamorda and the Hundred Kingdoms on its west bank and the arid Urgol Desert on its eastern bank, all the way to the Central Sea where it defines the borders between Ladevieux and Valera.

Barge trains move steadily north and south along its length from Kolos Jamorda to the port city of Windholme in Valera.
